2. App data
The app stores work dates, project names, start and end times, breaks, calculated working time and notes. The profile contains first name, last name and company name. Settings include language and reminder days, time and behaviour. Project names and notes may include personal information entered by you.
3. Local storage and purpose
Version 1.7.3 works without an online account. Work entries, profile and settings are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. They support time tracking, calculations, personalised PDF reports and reminders. The app does not automatically send them to XyeXonService and contains no advertising or usage analytics.
4. PDF reports and backups
PDF reports are generated on your device and may include profile details and work data selected for the report. Sharing occurs after you use the share button and choose a receiving app. A .xywhbackup file contains the profile, all work entries, settings and metadata as unencrypted JSON text. The system file picker for PDFs and backups may offer local or cloud storage. Choosing an external service sends the file to that provider, whose privacy rules also apply. Anyone with access to a backup file can read its contents.
5. System backups and notifications
Version 1.7.3 disables automatic Android backup in its configuration. This does not disable manual backups. Device-to-device transfer may depend on the manufacturer and Android version. Notification permission supports reminders to enter hours; you can disable reminders or notifications in the app or Android settings.
6. Retention and deletion
Entries remain on the device until you delete them, clear app data or replace them by restoring a backup. Individual entries can be edited and deleted. Profile fields can be changed or saved empty. To remove all local data, use Android Settings → Apps → XyeXon Work Hours → Storage → Clear data (labels vary by device). PDFs and backups saved outside the app, in the cloud or sent to other people are not deleted with app data. Delete them separately or contact their recipient. There is no online account to close.
7. Security and recovery
The app uses Android private storage without additional application-level encryption of its database or settings. Exported reports and backups are not password protected. Restore checks the format and checksum and limits backups to 20 MiB. A checksum does not encrypt data. A local emergency snapshot is created before restoration and removed on success; after failure it may remain for recovery or discard. PDFs prepared for sharing also remain in cache, which can be cleared through Android.
8. Contact and your rights
For privacy enquiries and requests to access, correct or delete data received by XyeXonService, email [email protected]. The company cannot remotely access your local entries or backups. If you email support, we receive your email address, message and attachments to handle your enquiry. Send only necessary information. We retain correspondence for as long as needed to handle the matter and any applicable legal obligations or claims. You may also complain to the relevant data protection authority, including Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands.
